On the evening of the 11th of December, 1886, Benjamin Fowler, in the 80th year of his age.

The deceased was for years a resident of this place, and was highly esteemed. The funeral services, which were in the charge of the Odd Fellows, were conducted from the Christian Church, Elder Ross officiating. A vast concourse of people attended the remains to their final resting place in the village cemetery. The doubly stricken widow, who has been a helpless paralytic for a number of years, finds her grief in being prevented from immediately following him.
